Dr. Gerhard Nitz

Gerhard advises pharmaceutical companies, providers of digital health services, and physicians on matters of statutory health insurance (SHI) and pharmaceutical law, including their constitutional and European law dimensions. Building on his experience in SHI physician law, he has developed a particular focus on advising pharmaceutical companies on market access and reimbursement issues, especially in relation to the German AMNOG system. Another core area of his practice is advising on prescription control measures imposed by the medical self-governance bodies. Gerhard also applies his regulatory experience in the pharmaceutical sector to related challenges concerning non-pharmaceutical diagnostic and treatment methods. He regularly lectures and publishes on these topics in both medical and legal professional journals. His high degree of specialization and in-depth expertise led to his inclusion in JUVE’s 2017 listing of the "Leading Names in Pharmaceutical and Medical Device Law."
